Founded on September 9, 2005 in East Kemang, South Jakarta, Indonesia by Amalia Ahmad and Tommy F Awuy, Philo ArtSpace takes its name from Philo—derived from the Greek word for “love.” It is this love for art that lies at the heart of everything we do. Dedicated to contemporary art and urban culture, Philo ArtSpace serves as a space for exploration, dialogue, and creative exchange. Our program extends beyond exhibitions, embracing discussions, spontaneous collaborations, and on-the-spot artistic interventions that bring artists and audiences into a shared creative moment.
